We stopped by during Dearborn Restaurant Week for a weekend dinner. The restaurant only had two parties other than us and I didn't see any takeout orders during our entire time there. Kind of surprised they don't get more business given how good the food is here. We got the restaurant week $40 special which basically came with a $40 Combo for Two + a $6 Spicy Potatoes. The combo comes with a variety of items. Pita - Their bake their pita for longer than most other places, resulting in a permanent puff that doesn't flatten. It almost resembles a crusty bread roll. The exterior has a somewhat hard crust but the inside still is moist from steam and retains some of the signature soft and tender pita texture. Toum - Some of the best toum I've had. Very strong garlic flavor, doesn't seem to have much, if any, filler. More of a paste rather than a gel/mayo consistency. A very slight green color like they didn't take out the garlic shoots. It looked like there was maybe a touch of black pepper, but I couldn't taste it. Hummus - Not much I can say except that this is a very good hummus. I think they use a little more tahini than other places. Salad - Very lightly dressed mix of crisp romaine lettuce, red cabbage, cucumbers, onion, and tomato. It's a pretty standard salad you get at most Dearborn Middle Eastern restaurants. Similar to a fattoush but without the fried pita. Main Platter with Rice and Fries, 2x Kafta, 1x Chicken Kabob, 1x Shish Kabob, Deboned/Boneless Chicken, Chicken and Meat Shawarma, various Grilled Veggies - The rice didn't have any almonds or vermicelli but was fluffy and well seasoned. The kabobs were grilled to perfection. The boneless chicken was actually some of the best chicken I have ever had - inside was moist and juicy, outside had the perfect grilled crisp. Kafta was pretty standard. The only real weakness of this platter was the shawarma. Alnawras does not specialize in shawarma and you can tell - both were quite dry and the taste wasn't there. You can get much better shawarma at many other places in Dearborn. The veggies were standard-grilled carrot slices, bell pepper and zucchini. Spicy Potatoes - Lightly fried potatoes with parsley and red pepper flakes and doused with a vinegary hot sauce (Tabasco?). The addition of hot sauce is kind of strange to be honest and really dampens the crispy edge of the fried potato. The potatoes were chopped into all sorts of different sizes, resulting in uneven cooking. I'm not sure if this was special for restaurant week as the menu has a photo of this dish and it looks totally different. Tap water is available at no charge (I only mention this because a lot of the mom and pop restaurants around here only offer bottled water).

Went here for a late lunch after a visit to the DIA. Could not have been more surprised as to the treat that awaited us. You would not guess based on the trucking and industry surrounding it that this gem would exceed expectations. Service, presentation, flavor and price were on point. I had a generous serving (listed as cup-size) of the most flavorful lentil soup I've ever had! Servings here are generous. A small Chicken Fatoosh salad was plentiful and so fresh, hearty and lightly dressed with all the Mediterranean flavors. Chicken topping the salad was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. We will return soon and bring others to introduce them to this gem!

A unique eating spot both Yemeni and Lebanese food's on the menu. We visit when first open about 3 year's ago, now a great following of regular customers. The Southend of Dearborn gets no mention in local media and the paid fake foodie's of Dearborn don't visit since they can't get paid. Marvelous platter for 2 could of fed 4 hungry folks easily. They don't skimp like many places a couple pounds of Meat. Kafta, Chicken Tawook, Lamb Kebab, Chicken and Beef Shawarma on a bed of Rice. Comes with Fatoush Salad, Hummus, Toum and Hot Puffy Bread. A marvelous Lentils Soup for the Win. The owner a Master Chef has 4 great restaurants, we've been to three of them. Easy to find on Wyoming just South of Michigan Ave, you be looking a block over at the Ford Rouge plant. The Yemeni meals are some of the very best in Metro Detroit also. Fast friendly service, yummy food and reasonable prices keep this place hopping. #alnawrasrestaurant @alnawras_dearborn #yemenirestaurant #platterfor2 #kafta #chickentawook #lambkebab #shawarma #downriverfriendseat

Excellent meal all around! Super impressed with this place. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and the prices were unbelievable! We ordered: - Alnawraw Combo (hummus, baba, tabouli): Tabouli was legit - no filler, just lots and lots of fresh parsley and the usual other ingredients. Fresh and deliciously made. - Lamb Grape Leaves: Tender, perfectly cooked, and super flavorful. - Haneeth chicken: We wanted the lamb version, but they didn't have it, which was a bummer. But the chicken was delicious and the half was plenty for us. - Saltah: Never had this dish before, but amazing flavor for only having veggies and spices. Delicious! The portions were huge, the flavors were bold, and the prices were amazing. Whole bill was around $43 plus tip. Highly recommended!

Went here for brunch and it was absolutely delightful. My friend and I ordered their Fahsa and Yemeni Meat Gallaya. It was worth it! They start you off with middle eastern bread on the table and seat you promptly. Since we ordered their Yemeni foods we decided to also order their tandoor bread (that could be improved) which tasted fine. Their food was actually good. It didn't blow our minds but it wasn't on the lower spectrum - it was just an overall good middle ground food. Will be back to try out more.
